2 weeks out

I was out of office for 2 straight weeks. Meaning, i was working on the field for 2 weeks. i really hoped it was a 2 week vacation. Nevertheless, i managed to see and visit nice places. I traversed more than half of the mindanao island. First stop was Davao, then Cagayan de Oro, then Dipolog, and last stop was Zamboanga. Boy, what a trip, we have to get up early and catch a quick breakfast to take a min 3 hrs and max 5 hours land trip. I saw one of the famous tourist resort in Dipolog City, Dakak. We just had snack there and picture taking. We marked the place as one of the options where we can hold our regional meetings. Then, we went to see the historical place, Dapitan, home of exile of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Its amazing to know some facts about his life in exile as the tour guide re tells them which obviously i did not remember from college subject, PI 100, shame on me! Well at least, now I know. Aside from the side trips, my fieldwork turned out to be productive. The info and data i gathered will be useful in our upcoming business planning by September. I really missed my office cubicle, our breaktime, lunch out and my apartment room.

Well, that 2 weeks is done now... And im ready to finish the month with good output in time for the planning. When i returned to Manila yesterday, i went straight to 2 meetings. I did not have the time to check on the pile of papers on my table, worse, was not able to open my email inbox. I imagined it to be on red and some mails have bounced since i was not able to open it everyday. Plus some junk mail, of course, has added up to the line. I really want an application that will automatically organize emails and filter it to good and junk mails. Is that impossible?
Well so much for that wish, got to tidy up my maibox first.

Saturday shopping

Yesterday was a work saturday. I planned not to go to office that day since i just got from fieldwork in Bohol and Cebu. But i was scheduled, again, for a 2 weeks field work next week, so i went to office. Since my mind is set that i won't work, i did not turned on my computer. I just checked on the pile of papers on my table and signed memos that are urgent, some can wait until monday. With nothing more to do that does not require a laptop, i decided to go out instead and do some thrift shopping. So together with my girl-friend-officemate, we went to Pasig. Even its raining, we braved the slippery streets and successfully brought stuffs at really cheap prices. On our way back to the car, rain was really pouring hard. But we need to get back to the office before lunchtime. So we hastilly ran to the car and carelessly throw our stuff in the backseat. A cracking sound is the next we heard. It turned out that my bag landed straight in a ceramic figurine in the backseat. Its a ceramic rotweiller figurine i bought in Bohol and its now broken! So much for thr thrift shopping! I just buy another one when i go back to bohol.

Harry Potter has ended, in the silver screen. But for me its not, as long as i can play the movie copy from my movie tank and read all 7 books in my kindle.

I am a self- confessed harry potter fanatic. But not as much compared to others i read in the net. Go on, jjudge me:

1. I have all 7 books (only in paperback)/ loaded it it my kindle (both audio & pdf files)
2. I got dvd copies/ movie tank all in hd copies
3. I have hp lego keychain, stickers, dvd case, bookmarks, notebook, magazines, organizer box, parker pen...
4. I downloaded all available HP apps from itunes in my iphone & ipad
5. I downloaded all HP movie soundtrack
6. My current laptop & ipad wallpaper is the "dumbledores army poster". My laptop password are HP spells (our company requires us to change pw every 3 months.. my current is 'confringo!'... previous are... alohomora!, riddikulus!, immobilus!...)
7. I was able to visit and enjoy the harry potter exhibit for 3 hours in time square new york! But no pictures was allowed inside.
8. I bought Hermione Granger's Timeturner
9. I plan to go to universal studio, florida for the hp theme park.
10. I regret not buying a wand from the exhibit store
11. I will dress up as Hermione if ever we have a halloween party or a costume party

Busy month

Im off to a very busy month... I just finished my Work itinerary and will submit tomorrow to my boss. First time that i will be out of town for 3 weeks in a month, 2 weeks straight in Mindanao (first and second week) and 1 week in west visayas (fourth week). I don't really mind my fieldworks, in fact i do enjoy it because of the places i visit and also the food! I only worry the weather, this month is rainy month.. And also, i have difficulty in packing my things. Its hard to pack for 10 days. Plus i have to bring my walking gear... But oh well, why complain? I need to work!

Last MArch 9 2011 me & my girl friends BEng & Lissa joined the Athena Fun Run, an all womens run at Mall of Asia. I was able to finish 3 km in 30 minutes... combi of running & walking... not too bad for a start... Even before, i started brisk walking for 45 minutes in the morning...if i fail to get up early & woke up too lazy to don jogging attire, i just settle for stretching exercises & statio bike for 45 minutes... this new routine of mine i want to make as a daily habit... i also stopped eating a lot of rice & pork... actually my ultimate goal is to lower down my blood values such as cholesterol, sugar... before I even reach 40.. and... eventually loose a lot of weight!!!! but no pressure... il do it slowly... heheheheheh

My studio condo is now a one-bedroom unit... I have it repainted (br: tiffany blue/ lv & k: mocha/ btr: sunshine yellow). Look at my smoked-glass sliding bedroom door! cool! I furnished it with cabinets & aircon too. Too bad Im not the first to enjoy the new furnishings... right now, the unit is being rented for a year. An architect has done the complete plan for the unit to maximize the 31 sqm space. Ill deal with it once Ive decided to occupy it.

Reading is one of my past times... books i just shelved in ... The Shopaholic Series (5 books), Remember Me, Undomesticated Goddess, Can you keep a secret & Twenties Girl... all by Sophie Kinsella... i enjoyed all the books... all are simply funny & hilarious... very entertaining... i love the book covers!...its always good to laugh!!!

Here are the books already in my shelf but was not able to read yet... i'll try during the holidays...

Still on the look out for good reads... Neil Gaiman may interest me...

But one thing is for sure.... ill be reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows again (for the 3rd time) in time for the movie HP7 part 1 this November....

yeah... the 2nd long-time running broadway ever (not sure of the first)... i was able to see it last august 6 @ the CCP Tanghalang Abelardo... was in the third row..(actually 2 rows of junkyard seats in front of us)...got stiff neck kasi sobrang lapit... but definitely worth it...the show was spectacular!!!! and to top it all, i got the ticket for free!!! yeah... our seat costs P7,000.00... i got magnet & CD copy (original broadway soundtrack)...the whole cast was great! leah salonga? as if... tinatanung pa ba? her rendition of the song memory was just so perfect...

We had our mid-year conference in Cebu last July 11-15, 2010. Our company has achieved the 1st semester sales target thats why we need to pause and plan the next 6 months of the year. It was held in Imperial Palace, Cebu City. This week-long event started with the Cebu plant tour...teambuilding by the beach, business meeting & goal setting, brand activation booths, dealers meeting, dealers plant tour. Total of 150 UNAHCO employees flew in Cebu on July 12, then on July 14, total of 250 of our dealers followed us in Imperial Palace. Typhoon Basyang is up that time... fligth to Cebu was delayed... but thank God almost all made it to Cebu...the event was almost cancelled!!!

Dental Surgery

Urrrggghhh!!! ang sakit!!! now, resting at home after the dental procedure yesterday, april 23 @ health first clinic --- root canal (oh, ok) and apicoectomy (surgery)... i have a cyst at the tip of the root of my front teeth... so... i had a cut at the gums.. ouch!!! i counted around 8-10 stiches... double ouch... oh well, the cyst is gone & i hope it will not get back... post-surgery medicines: 2 kinds of pain reliever... antibiotics... post op care--- cold compress after 24 hours, then hot compress to alleviate swelling (which the doctor confirmed to occur for at least 3-5 days), pressure pads to arrest bleeding, cold, soft food 24 hour after, tomorrow i can eat hot food na... soup... yey, diet ako...doctors advise to rest for 5 days... hay... hope ill get well soon!!!

btw, root canal & surgery was done @ 3:30 pm... it lasted till 6:45 pm... i arrived manila via gen santos city @ 12 noon...

Hongkong-Macau Incentive Trip!!! Woohhoooo...super shopping spree!! this is the first time I splurge on to all my wishlist... hhehehee.. i was just planning to get a brand new camera (canon g11) but i went home with a lot more!!! as in more that i am good for gifts to myself until xmas 2012- all occasions counted... haloween, valentines, easter, birthday, xmas, new year...hahahaha.. we stayed in The Rennaisance Hotel in Kowloon... first stop was the Victoria Peak... then the Jumbo floating resto.. picture picture... walked along Nathan Road and bought perfumes...D&G Light blue for Ruthie, CK Summer & Escada Marine Groove for me... Giordano shirts (super sale) for Rodneil & Daddy.. some Chinese medicated oil for Mommy... and my canon g11 bridge camera... day 2... all 156 of us went to Macau... sight seeing... then the Venetian... alas, great view!!! but we failed to ride the gondola, sayang,... there are a lot of good shops on sale!!! but I was not able to buy from there kasi I was saving my powers for the next day kasi ang destination namin is the city gate outlet mall- the only outlet mall in hk) @ Tun Cgung Station. day 3- city gate mall... i bought coach wallet... thomas train camera for Neo... ang dami ko pa sana gusto bilin dun but I restrained my self na.. hahahaha...we got the all day tourist train ticket... we rode the train & alighted at the Sunny Bay station & rode the cutest train ever to Disneyland resort...we get as far to the entrance lang... you see, almost half of our officemates are inside disneyland... kme, d na nag punta, mas pinili namin ang mag shopping kasi previuos trips kasi walang time sa shopping kaya, todo na ito!!! it was really cold there at disneyland that time...next stop... harbour city mall... toys r us... suko na kme maglakad... uwi na...day 4 (last day)... went to Sogo Mall... gosh!!! super sale ang lacoste... got myself 1 bag lang... then an aerosole shoes.. super bargain...was able to aquire 1 tera western digital hard drive thru an officemate who was then in Mongkok... i also bought 2 iphone, for me & ruthie... yipeee!!! its my dream phone kasi... also 2 silicon case... so, thats just about it...

Its pretty hectic at work! 1st quarter of the year is almost over.... i have to run a brand & program review, assess market situation & identify what are the opportunities so that we can draft the 2nd quarter marketing guidelines. On top of that, I have to submit my balanced scorecard in which carefull scrutiny is needed... this will be the basis of my merit rating (read: salary increase). Plus the events... we just finished 2... one in Bicol & one in Tagaytay. I was made to go home after one day in Bicol because of my inflammed face (hehehe, literal na makapal ang mukha), I had ct scan at medical city & was diagnosed wth nasal cyst, that it can be treated by antibiotics (I had 2 kinds, Cloxacillin & Clindamycin..), i rested for 3 days. After the post medicine check up, the doctor ruled out problems concerning my nose & sinuses... he advised me to see a dentist because he suspects that the problem originates from my bad front teeth. Ill be seeing a dentist on March 15...hope my case will not worsen...

Then, the Bohol trip... we all enjoyed... day 1 was raining... hehehe... they say its my balat... pero we get to enjoy the beach that day pa din...we had dinner @ chicken Ati-atihan... day 2 is the necessary tour, we hired a van to take us to ... chocolate hills, tarsier, butterfly farm, old churches, blood compact & river cruise @ loboc river.... it was a perfect family summer holiday...
I miss our planning session @ Oakwood hotel... ok lang...

Then, the pending work... huhuhuhu... gggrrrhhhhh.... then I got allergies... really itchy... in my legs & konti sa arms... culprit: sunblock... been taking loratidine tablets...

Goodbye Tito Ocs

When Ondoy hit the country, I was, with my officemates, attending the internment of one of our boss...to many of us... "tito ocs". It was really raining hard but still we braved it to Binan, Laguna. Kahit na bumabagyo, i did not regret going to Binan to make my final farewell to Tito Ocs.

Tito Ocs is the strict & serious type of boss. But to a handful of people in his little circle, and I think Im one of them, is a very sensible, objective, the most organized person. I think Im one of the persons he can talk about his children. It started during the time when his daughther entered college in UPLB... he will ask me kung ok sa dorm na un... ok ba pumasok ng org/sorro ung anak nya... he would tell me how he improvise things for her daughters dorm, those sort of things... then his second son also went to LB... hes mighty proud of his children...i havent met them, but when I finally saw them, parang kilala ko na rin sila...

His passing was a shock to us. I can still remember the time I received the text bearing the news that hes gone na, natulala talaga ako. Nag flash back sa isip ko the last time I saw him and its just very recent. Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala. He doesnt smile always... but the last memory I have of him was that he was grining (he joined us in the canteen when our group was having late lunch), masaya siya that time.

I will surely miss the times sa may guard house during our puffing times...

HEALTH CHECK

I had my annual physical check up last week & I just received the results... hehehehe... as expected... i got 3 yellow highlights... this meant that there are 3 blood values that crossed the borderline... hehehehe... cholesterol, triglycerides & LPL or bad cholesterol.

But, I still want to congratulate me because these results is far way better than my April 2008 values... my not eating pork since Feb 2009 paved off... buti na lang! kasi kung d nag bago, e kakain na lang ulit ako ng pork. Its so ironic talaga kasi my line of work is all about pork... my officemates always say .. uy ritz, support the industry... but, now that age is running fast ahead of me, health comes first... i should be in good health state before i begin life... life begins at 40 davah... heheheh... pero matagal pa un... hahaha...

To top this, today is my first week of walking... yup, as in outdoor brisk walking @ 5:45 am... this, i really hope I can develop into a habit and routine...i won't push my limits naman, pag hingal na, uwi na. hahahaha...

So, since all of these are put into record, nakakhiya naman sa akin kung d ko gagawin... so wish me luck!

Yehey! I've eliminated the prime suspect of me developing allergic rhinitis. Since, we are just renting the apartment, it will be very tedious and expensive on our part to totally remove the carpet, so... heres what we did!!!

I was diagnosed with ALLERGIC RHINITIS by my EENT doctor the last time I visited him for a check up of a 2 week old colds & sore throat...

The meds are pretty expensive, the only good side is its just for spray...

I believe that this condition may go away if i can eliminate the culprit...

Back from Baguio...

yes, back to office again...sales, marketing, technical & guests of our company was in Baguio from July 7 to 11 for our mid-year business conference. It was one helluva of an event because our target for the year increased..first half of the year registered a very promising year end... we cant complain because along with the first semester performance is 10,000 worth of GC (mas ok GC para walang tax)... Whats even better? SALES TARGET DELIVERED EQUALS ASIAN TRIP & GC worth _ _,000... plus a $100 dollar/day pocket money!!!wooohhoooo!!!! all of us are pumped up to finish the year!!!!

All 158 pax travelled to Baguio via Victory liner... btw, the conference theme was REV UP, the ARMY way...I chaired the Logistic comittee...from the venue ambiance, paraphernalias, fellowship night uniform was army-inspired... we had dog tags as our ID...

we stayed at The Manor, Camp John Hay... sooo nice... food is ok too...we started the business mtg with a mass (one of our companys tradition)...what I did not like much are the morning drills... we get to wake up early...very early for the 5am formation at the 19th tee... drills were led by real cadets... whew!!! pero its part of the army-ish experience eh...

conference proper..as in presidents report & directions went very well... as for our part... we presented the 3rd Q marketing guidelines...

we also had city tour..majority of our Vis & min warriors are first timers in Baguio so the committee prepared the tour... we were like 12 vans (~10 pax per van)traversing PMA..Mines View, The Mansion... cyempre kodakan...LA Trinidad, though its off season for strawberry picking... we ended up buying veggies.. i bought brocolli, lettuce & baby potatoes...i had strawberry flavored taho too.. yum yum...then ang walang kamatayang ube jam @ Good Shepherd... we were not able to go to Burnham & Groto kasi its raining... instead, itinerary wa changed to SM as the lastere stop... ok naman, kasi kakaiba naman ang SM sa Baguio...

In all days... kulang sa tulog...kaya during sessions, I have to take paracetamol....

We left Baguio 7 am July 11 and was in our Manila office by 1:30 pm...i think this is the best business conference so far...

Now, am looking forward to my post entry about our company hitting the target this December....yahoo!!!!

Angels & Demons

With Ruthie, we watched Angels & Demons at Shangrila on its 2nd week. hehehehe... late ba? Well, anyway... we can't find common time kasi and good thing, it was still showing when we remembered it.

I read the book. And I think the production staff really did a good job. As expected, changes and some tweaking was done in the movie that I think made the storyline very interesting & a little toned down. I like the cast, the cinematography, and the effects...i like this better than The Da Vinci Code...

I will definitely add this movie to my collection...

I had cervical cancer vaccine shot last June 7... I got this on a discounted price (would you believe, Its on sale!!! and Im a sucker for SALE...hahahah) P5,200 from our company health services... Its a set of three... booster shots after 1 & 6 months...lifetime protection...

Booster shots on July 7... then on Jan 2010!!!

Talking medical... this is also to remind me of my annual physical check up, plus blood chem on August... I hope it has improved from my November values...that I have to record

I love perfumes but I seldom buy them. Right now I have in my closet 3 perfumes which I wear alternately... United Colors of Benetton B-Jeans & Ferragamo Incanto Heaven & Shine. Years back, my favorites were Escada lines... Sexy Grafitti, Rockin' Rio.. i forgot the other one... I only buy on sale, that's why.

I'm more into colognes, particularly fruity Scent.

Im fond of Victoria Secret colognes too. My favorites... Sweet Temptation & Country Apple. Its always in my bag especially during summer.

Huhuhuhu... now, I'm still at the office for the usual Monday routine... meeting dito meeting don!. We presented our Bangkok trip to the MANCOM & so far they appreciated the things that we reported. Then, theres the last minute approval of the marketing guideline kasi I'll fly to Dumaguete tomorrow and be back Saturday pa! So March 30 na ako makakabalik sa office... just in time lang yun for the regional business meeting to present the new guideline... Whew! sobrang busy talaga! Hay... d na natapos ang mga pending... then end of the month na... sales cut-off!!!

Uhuh... I started last Feb 25 (Ash Wednesday)... So far so good...I managed not to eat pork & beef kahit na hotel food kame ng 2 weeks (biz review @ Holiday Inn & VIV in Bangkok)... am really proud of myself... hehehe... sana tuloy tuloy na... my initial objective is cleansing.... sinasabayan ko ng water therapy... kasi Im preparing for my annual check up by May... alam mo na... ageing.... I hope may weight loss... Ill hit the scale on the first month para surprise... no pressure!!! pero alam ko pag nag loose ako kahit konti, un na! paninindigan ko na!!! One thing is for sure.... On Easter Sunday... its Fiesta!!! hehehehe... Then, after this, I plan to go on a no sweets diet naman... wish me luck!!! sana ma convince ko na sarili ko to exercise... kahit brisk walking lang at least 2x a week...

For me it is not the right time kasi I'm down with colds (was absent last thursday because of flu)...huhuhuhuhhu... and I learned it just last friday... panic panic! wala pa akong presentation... then, its sales cut-off na naman... regional meeting to update on march marketing guidelines on monday at Bocaue, Bulacan... hay, d na matapos tapos ang mga meeting!

It was indeed music to my ears because I was really not expecting it. It was already announced 2 weeks ago that Beng & Rodner will. I was planning to go with Beng then since I can share hotel accomodation.

Then, I decided na hindi na lang kasi sobrang dami ng pending sa work. Tapos, the news!!!! saya talaga! This is the second time that our company sponsored me to a trip abroad (1st was sa World Pork Expo- Iowa & Akey - Ohio).

...got to submit my passport details pa.... still dont have our 3-day IT... hope we can extend until march 14

DAVAO

I was in Davao for 5 days. I attended the annual convention of veterinarians, (as a delegate and the representative of our company) PVMA, at Waterfront. I was there one day before the convention proper for the booth ingress. This is the 3rd time that PVMA was staged in Davao, well, in my 12 years as a vet. The 1st was in 1998 (don’t remember the hotel… it was my 1st time to attend the convention kasi I graduated 1997… also, my first time to travel by plane. Naks, talagang memorable yon! The 2nd was in 2006… sa Apo View Hotel… sponsor din kami. I enjoy this convention kasi I get to see my college friends… networking din (baka may job opening… hehehe). Kung tutuusin, R & R lang talaga…

I was able to see the Butterfly House, Crocodile Farm and the Philippine Eagle at Malagos.. may ostrich farm din kami napuntahan… kakainis, I forgot to bring my camera kaya phone camera lang nagamit ko. sayang...

Pre and post Valentine

On Friday the 13th, we had a fun night of food trip (read: spaghetti with meatballs, Hungarian sausages, siomai, tacos, baguette, fried chicken & bottomless iced tea) & videoke while THE BOYS- Clint, Albert, Dennis, Sonny & Mike are sipping red wine and THE GIRLS- me, Tina & Joy are sipping white wine. This is the second year in a row that we celebrated Valentines at Clint’s house. We started early so the night ended around 11:30 pm. Yey, no work the next day… Saturday… Valentines day.

On Valentines day, I was at Pasig palengke! I was up early that day & was thinking of spending the day cleaning our room. I don’t know who suggested of going to the palengke, alas! Rachelle, Ner, Abby, Val, Neo & me are on our way! Ok naman pala talaga duon… I bought kurtina (half the price compared sa mall) & duster for mommy. I will definitely go back there with out Neo in tow para makadami… hehehehehe

We had lunch at Panciteria San Jacinto & had dessert at Mom & Tinas. It was also Val’s birthday kasi. Stayed home after lunch and watched Across the Universe (not able to finish the movie, mejo na bored ako) & Lucky You. Dozed off early…
Sunday… travel to Pampanga. Daddy attended their 50th highschool anniversary at Bacolor. We arrived at Bacolor church just in time to hear the 8 am mass. When we got to the venue of the reunion, the motorcade is already ready to take off.

After the motorcade, I went to Robinsons Starmills at San Fernando
These items went home with me… hehehehehe.. syempre SALE!!!

Mejo limited time lang to look around kasi have to sundo pa M&D from the reunion.
Since we still have time, we went to Lubao house to see Tita Luz… ako lang nag-lunch… sarap… fried tilapia with “tagilo” or buro , green mangoes with bagoong!
Kakapagod kasi mainit sa Pampanga…traffic pa-Manila…I was not able to review my presentation… bahala na….

Weekends

This coming weekend will be very busy. Though, its not a working Saturday, its gonna be a busy day. Like last week, I won't be heading home to Cavite for the weekend..

- Meet up with Precy, my condo tenant to finalize matters (she will move in Feb 15)

- Drop by office to check on mailings and delivery for the Davao event

- Clean room- vaccuum, change sheets, curtains...

- Window shop (kung may time pa)...

SUNDAY:

- drive to Pampanga to accompany Mommy & Daddy - they will attend Daddy's 50th highschool anniversary

- carwash (kung maaga makauwi)

- final check on my presentation material for Monday

Last Sunday, we (Mommy, Daddy, Rachelle, Neo & Ruthie) met up with Tito Steve & Tita Auring at Megamall. We had buffet lunch at Cabalen. Sobrang busog! The "oldies" tranferred to Coffee Bean for they have matters to discuss pa. As for me, Rachelle with Neo, we window shopped. I went to SM department store kasi I have gift checks (shopping starting now means going to SM... until the gc's are consumed... hehehehe). Bought 4 Wacoal undies on sale (70% off, good buy talaga sa palagay ko).. and 2 DVD organizer.

Brought car to carwash shop... had my nails done at the neighborhood salon, next to the carwash shop for manicure & pedicure to save on waiting time...

Went to Rainbow Ridge to meet with Precy. She issued PDCs na for the 13 months rent.
