Christmas Giveaways

Yey! I just finished giving out gifts to my close friends & office mates. I had a hard time completing them! And I really cannot decide which is better- buying gifts as early as October or buying gifts on the last minute? This year, I started piling up gift items in my room starting October.

Gifts for girls are easy. But for guys, uuurrggghhh, diffucult round. Maybe because I don't like lurking in the mens section.. hehehehe. So I settled with formal Socks and white under shirts. I bought those at good price. I learned that mens things are costly than that of the ladies. For girls, we can easily find fancy thingys from wallets, purse, hair accessories, cologne and even a decent bag at very reasonable price. Well, I hope they will appreciate the gifts, moreso of the effort!

And since I'm talking about buying gifts, I volunteered in buying the raffle items for our group's christmas party. All in all, we are 20 and the task is to buy 20 items (unisex items, of course) with a budget of 10,000. I love the idea! Everyone of us gets a prize. So the challenge for me is to buy very very nice items for all. Hahahaha, we finished spending the 10,000 gift check in less than 2 hours! Here's what we got ( I was with Tina)... (2) Rustans Bath towel, (3) TravelPro Travelling Bag (really nice, got it on sale!), (5) pairs if Havaianas flip flops (since we don't know who will get these, i asked for individual receipts in case of size replacement, they said including Havaianas in the list was a brilliant idea!) (4) TravePro Travelling Kit & clutch (nice one, too), (6) assortment of Rustans lotion & bath gel.

Our party was a blast! Apart from those gifts, we all got our wishes granted. You see, we listed our gift wishes 1 week before our party and its mandatory that one gets to buy the wish of his/her "baby".

With all the parties, food & gifts that we all be having, let's not forget the real reason of this season.

Merry Christmas To All!!!

Fast Forward

As the days of December passes by, I have this feeling that everything is on the fast forward mode! I should be resting a bit after the operation but I can't afford it. Our 2008 homecoming and 2009 kick off rally is scheduled on december 17 to 20. Though I'm not assigned to critical roles in the preparation, I still have the marketing guidelines and new product launch to oversee.

But given all these, and the spirit of Christmas is in the air, I cannot be grouchy. We still manage to squeeze in time for malling to check for gifts & wish lists. X-mas parties are now all in the offing! And we have a sort of an extended xmas vacation. Our company will close for the hoilidays on the 22nd and will resume on Jan 5. Yahoo!!!

UNILAB BA YAN?

click the poster to learn more about Unilab.
For 10 years now, I have been part of the UNILAB family & experienced the Bayanihan way of life. I am proud to be part of it and what makes me doubly proud even was when the corporate ad of Unilab came out. My famly, friends & even neighbors acknowledge this fact that whenever they see me (when the ad was out in tri-media) they say, uy, Unilab, ang galing ah! My answer will be a smile (big grin even, hehehe) and I will say, syempre! Unilab e.

When I was hospitalized, I told my attending doctor & surgeon to prescribe Unilab products as much as possible. True enough, I got doses of Amoclav IV & Skelan & was prescribed as home medicine with Amoxiclav tab & Allerta. This is all part of the health benefit that we enjoy in Unilab!

Now, I'm so glad with the additional products that are lined up in Unilab. The following are the products I & my family usually use (service from the valle & purchases from the drugstore when I failed to get valle, hehehehe): Biogesic, Alaxan, Dolfenal, Enervon (C, tab, Prime), Neozep, Decolgen, Tuseran, Medicol, Nutroplex, Ceelin for my pamangkin, Vidastat, Glumet, Amvasc, Duavent for mommy & daddy, pH care, myra lotion... and a lot more!!!! My latest valle order was the face powder of Myra. You know what I did? I ordered 6 pieces. Its not just for me and my sisters, I will give them to my friends so that they will try it. Well, sampling is the best way to induce trial, right? I did that also when pH care was launched, and now, they told me that they use it forever na!

Well, anecdotes involving UNILAB in my life are so many to tell & blog about. What I know is that UNILAB has become a way of life to all employees of the company. For those who are not a part of this family, you can still experience being a part by just using the wide array of products... I think all would agree, that these products has come your way in more ways than one. I can even say that, even without statistics...that at least 90% of the male/female, aged 20 to 60 of the Philippine population, from the time Biogesic was introduced in the market is practically aware and better yet, has taken Biogesic? Well, just an assumption...

I was Down and Out

I was hospitalized! Moreso, I had an operation (minor)! I was admitted to the hospital for chronic sinusitis. I was discharged from the hospital just now and I have been there since Monday, 2 am! I'm not expecting my condition to be this worse until the right side of my face started to swell. I had headache since Saturday & Sunday and then on Monday, I went straight to our company clinic for check up and the doctor confirmed that it was sinusitis & gave me strong antibiotics, decongestant & pain releiver. With these at hand, I thought it would be enough to cure it. So, I did not let it bother me thorugh the day and I was able to attend to two of my meetings. But after work, around 6:30 pm, I'm in pain and I cannot drive, so I asked an officemate to get me home. But not too long as I was resting in our apartment that I came down and asked my sister if my BIL can take me to the nearest hospital. And so I went, thinking that I won't be admitted and that the resident doctor will just inject me with antibiotics, steroids maybe for the swelling and pain reliever. I was so wrong, and they are so right! I needed to be admitted for close monitoring medication program because the swelling caused by sinusitis (confirmed in the paranasal x-ray) is near the brain and is dangerous if not properly treated. Yaiks, that really gave me the creeps! Good thing I went to see a doctor! I responded with the antibiotics (3 days) & steroids (2 days). Yey, thank God the pain is gone. I was bored already with nothing to do but to watch TV. But on my fourth day, swelling is much worst than the first time. The doctor, with my consent (naturally, I will say yes) decided to do the operation.. I was put to sleep, it lasted for 5 hours (from the time anesthesia was injected to the time I was conscious. Post operation was not that difficult. What I know is that the pain is now gone!!!! There's swelling still but no more pain.

Now, I have to be careful. I have to wear mask especially if I'm in the field. I got to finish all the take home medicines & be back to see my doctors for final prognosis.

It has been a week! I was down with sinusitis and out from work & blogging!

I missed the Baguio trip! Huhuhuhuhu...

Dreams May Come True

I don't want to pre-empt but I'm too excited not to blog this. I was just invited by my very close friend to go with her in Europe this coming July! Trip to Europe is my fondest dream! I really want to work for it to come true! The things that will keep me not pursuing this and make this dream of mine not to happen is the time. I need at least 3 weeks off from work. Then, of course visa approval. The money can be raised from now until june. I have to plan for this. This is now or never! Wish me luck.

Holiday Weight

I love the Holidays! I love x-mas bazaars, that's why. And I love parties & gifts. I love the Christmas food and sweets! What I don't like really much is the eating habit we get to develop during this season. How can we escape if eating is a way of life during holidays. This means adding up on weight again. I can't help it because of the parties here and there.

Loosing weight has been my forever goal in life. Gaining weight is very expensive because there are times that I get to realize some of my pants & clothes won't fit me anymore. So embarrassing!. Life is so unfair because extra weight comes as we get older. Huhuhuhuhu. I started going to the gym for some cardio & badminton with friends, but it lasted only for several weeks because of work schedule. We even started eating greens but preparing for them makes us lazy & forget about it. There's always food at the canteen, we say.

Now, I'm tempted to use Safe Diet Pills after the holiday. Hahahaha, read: after the holiday! I don't want to put pressure since I get to have loads of it from work, thats why I will try. Hahaha, bunch of lame excuses. Well, I'll browse through health & wellness site for more motivational push. What I want are those that are guaranteed effective & safe. Well, if anyone of you can recommend, so much the better.

My DVD Collection

I collect DVD's and from my latest count, I have at least 400. I do categorize them. Cartoons, 3d Animation, Romance/Feel Good, Fantasy/Adventure, Action/Suspense, Classic & Drama. I encoded them all and made borrowers card for each, then, I kept them in a box. I also started numbering them & putting codes. I use this system whenever someone will borrow from my collection. This way, I can track those that are not yet returned.

But now, I decided to remove them all from the box because its using a lot of space in our apartment. I bought a DVD organizer that has pockets also for the label.

Right now, its 80% done. Thanks to Mommy who heped me remove them from the cases. How I wonder if I can sell those cases. I wish I could so that it will fund the cost of the organizer. One organizer can carry 42 DVDs.

Catching Up

Wow, I missed blogging. Got lots of things to blog about but I don't know where & what to start. I have posted entries in the past weeks but mostly on paid post. Hehehe, got to earn extra bucks for the holidays. A lot of things has been going on this past weeks. I think the best way to back track details I want to write here is for me to do a list. Yes, that's me... am into a habit of listing things...but I'm proud to say that I stick to my lists. Well, here goes...
1. Neo's final birthday preps
2. Neo's b-day party
3. A close colleague leaving our company
4. X-mas bazaars & shopping spree
5. Trip to Baguio
6. New books to read
7. DVD collection

I think this will do for the meantime...

Computer Games

Are you a computer games fanatic? Well, good for you because nowadays, you can just select a game that you fancy at the moment in the internet. As for me, am not really into computer games, besides the fact that I get eye problems when I'm in front of a computer monitor for long.
But if there is a chance that I get to play, am into word games and some kids computer games. What I'm saying is, installing games in your lap top or desk top can't hurt! Well, in fact, I do have some in my lap top like iphone games & mac solitaire. Kids and adults alike can now choose from different types of games to enjoy.

These are all available in midoritech.com. You can browse it just like I did and you can choose from their game menu the one that will suit you.

Friend Abroad

I have friends working abroad who keeps telling me to get a job there too. From their stories, I can tell they do a lot more money now but they experienced hardwork on the start. Well, that sounds normal. The idea is very tempting, but right now, I still can't find a major reason of leaving my job here, nor the country.

I have this friend & former office mate working in Canada who has been there for I think 6 years already. I have lost contact with him and from the last email I got from him, he got promoted from work. Maybe he moved in other work place and lost my contact details or he's just plain busy. Anyway, I learned this
canada phone number reverse on line service where I can look up for him. I wanted to contact him because I owe his eldest son gifts (im one of the godparent, that's why) at least for this coming holidays. If you wanted to look for someone in Canada, lets try this site!

To Do List (November Vacation)

I'm so looking forward to the no-work days (Oct 31 to Nov 2). Got lots of things in my mind I want to accomplish as follows:

1. Stephenie Meyer book marathon
2. Organize my DVD collection

3. Catch up with the movies I failed to watch during their show dates

4. Send some shoes & bags for repair

5. Preps for Neo's Bday

6. Blog. Hope I get more opportunities

7. Ebay!
8. Start my x-mas list
9. Do my To Do List.

I Need A Booster

I caught a new cold virus strain! I was down with colds (thank God, no cough followed) last week. Though this time, it's not that debilitating like my previous episodes with cold & cough viruses. Still, I was able to do my field work last week. I was in Nueva Ecija for 3 days. This is because of the flu vaccine shot I got last year. But now, I need a booster shot. Too bad, I have not seen an e-mail announcement from our mother company for free flu vaccine shot. I have to take double dose of vitamin C and drink lots of water because it seems that everyone has colds, at least in our office. Those that are recovering from the colds are the potential carrier and shedder of the virus.

Can you imagine how many billion strains of viruses that lived in our environment? One can never be infected with the same virus strain again. So, if you compute the average times you caught a cold in a year, times your current age....hhhmmmmm, i don't want to know....

Heritage Web Solutions

Thanks to the power of internet. It makes our job easy. Like in my work for instance. My work calls for at least 60% continuous communication with strategic agencies, production houses and creative boutiques. With internet, email, they can submit creative studies and pitches that I can instantly see and check with out the hassle of printing them, delivering them to our office before the final production. Then, I can send instant messages to them explaining the revisions.

Well, I can't state all the benefits I get from these, and I bet all of you agrees with me. Heritage Web Solutions has them all!!!. Below is a press release material for you to find out.

Press Release:

“The Economic Report” show to feature Heritage Web Solutions

October 22, 2008, Deerfield Beach, FL – The producers of The Economic Report are pleased to announce that Heritage Web Solutions will be featured in an upcoming episode as part of the show’s Business and Technology series on The Power of the Internet Supporting the 21st Century Business Environment.

The internet has revolutionized the ways businesses market themselves. It is essential for businesses, both large and small, to have an effective web presence. A company’s website essentially serves as their electronic store front, communicating the company’s identity to website visitors.

Today, there are approximately 970 million internet users thus making internet marketing the most effective way to appeal to customers from around the world. Websites overcome the limitations between countries and continents thus making a company international. Having a website also means that a business is open and reachable at any time and allows for quick customer response time.

But, it isn’t as simple as just setting up a website. The only way for a company to be set apart from other online competition is unique website design. Businesses turn to internet technology companies for the development of a professional and search engine friendly, website.

Utah-based Heritage Web Solutions specializes in designing and hosting affordable websites for small and medium size businesses. In business since 2001, Heritage designs all websites to custom fit each company, giving each client a unique, original and authentic design. Customers of Heritage also have access to custom flash graphics, Ecommerce development and assistance, database creation and management, traffic driving resources and more.

“As a global community, we are evolving into a technology-based world,“ said Brad Stone, Managing Partner, Heritage Web Solutions. “Rarely we pay cash or write a check anymore. More of our purchases are made online, or at least we research online before making a purchasing decision. Our checking, savings and credit card accounts are maintained and paid for online. Our socializing has moved to FaceBook, YouTube and MySpace. Our communications are emailed, texted or Skyped. Breaking news can now be fed instantly via RSS feeds to our computers or cell phones instead of waiting for the six o’clock news. The Internet is very much a main part of human society today.”

Twilight in November

Now, I'm back to my good ol' reading days. After Harry Potter series, I have not read any other fiction books. Now that the Stephenie Meyer book series is out, I bet I'll be hooked on to all of them, as in, work-book routine. Move over, DVD and the tv series i've been following (besides, I can catch up with them in dvds). Im preparing for the first movie offering of the book series... Twilight which is scheduled to be shown mid-November!

Long Drive... To and From...

I just got back from Nueva Ecija. Our company sponsored an event to award outstanding professionals in the field of animal science and veterinary research. It was indeed a long drive. I once said, and stand to my statement that "long drive soothes my nerves", until now. I was so tired. I was not able to keep up with it without good music and the jokes that two of my companion crack from time to time. Yes, I do laugh (really hard) even to simple jokes. It made me forget the difficulty am in because of the glaring headlights of vehicles at the other side of the road. It also made our trip a little less boring.

There are times that I also save jokes that was sent to me through text because I want to share it to my friends and hoping they will laugh really hard too just like I did!

Panic Buy

Oh no! I panicked-buy again! And this time, on e-bay!!! This usually happens when I was not able to buy the things I want from mall shopping. Now, I got 7 items bought (not bid) up on my ebay name. It's like I was "bitin" from my spree last Saturday. Why does e-bay have the things I
wanted all at the same time?

Mystery Caller

I've been receiving unwanted calls in our office during work hours. A credit card company offering their latest promo or even on-line application. One time, a call telling me that I won an overnight stay at a hotel and that I have to pick up the certificate at their office and asking me to stay for at least 60 minutes for their detailing. All of these are time consuming and annoying especially if you have a deadline to beat.

In the US, you can Report Annoying Callers. Its a special service that will help you identify prank and mystery callers.
You can trace the number that is not in your phone book . This service is very useful since now, everyone has mobile cellphones. I hope we can access it here too!!

No Money, No Icecream

Has it happened to you that you only discover you don't have any money, even coins in your wallet at the moment you are going to pay for something that you really wanted? The natural reaction is to ask your companion, if you have any, to just pay for the purchase & promise to pay for it later. But what if your companion also has no money at hand too?

Yes, this has happened to me! Me and my friend/office mate went out for lunch. After eating, we craved for dessert. We fancied then to buy ice cream. The sales lady has done scooping when we realize our little problem. Good thing we have not started eating the ice cream. My friend went straight to the ATM while I stayed at the ice cream stand. It was really embarrassing. If not for the ice cream, we will not realize this and will have this situation at the parking lot!

But the thing is, we were not able to buy the ice cream because the vendor has no change for the 1,000 bill.

Moral lesson: Never crave for ice cream? Duh?

Vet On Call

I'm not the only veterinarian in our office. But every time that there is a dog related problem in one of my office mates, It is I that they call. Just recently, on a weekend, one of the boss (am not directly reporting to him) called me. I wish they understand the difficulty in diagnosing a pet problem over the phone. Its not easy. I'll just rely on their story & I should extract information that would lead me close to identifying whats really wrong with the dog.

In this case, good thing, the problem was a little bit glaring. The clinical signs based on my boss observation clearly states that the dog is suffering from flea infestation. So, I recommended the flea control products I always use.

Maybe the drug I recommended was effective since he did not call anymore. More so, two other bosses called me (from our mother company) for consultation. How I wish I charge for professional fee!!!

Birthday Preps Update

The invitation is done and ready for distribution. My sister finally decided what will be the souvenir. She was finished with the selection of the pictures for the MTV and was handed to me yesterday. I have to give it to the editor. But wait, she hasn't decided yet what will be the background music. The loot bags are now in production. Today is my meeting with the tshirt supplier. Final design for the cake was already submitted. I'll talk to my friend who will do the balloons....

Cards for the Family

My mother called me up yesterday and asked me to buy Christmas cards (this early!) for our relatives in the U.S. At first, I thought my mother was joking because I can't remember when was the last time I bought a greeting card. Well, I heard my mom right and is really asking me to buy 6 sets of cards. Along with this request is the listing of the area codes for Louiseville, Kentucky, Chicago & Alabama.

So, I looked up in this site, Search Area Codes which my friend referred. It's a useful site because of its completeness. It has the list of all the area codes of the 50 states in the US. Looking up for the codes is a breeze.

Just for Laughs

What makes one laugh? Really very hard? A good joke is one the most sound answer, right? Happy moments, too. I write this post because I laughed really hard when my classmate from college (we are not that close) popped up a YM to me as I'm doing a post.

Here goes our YM:

classmate: ritz...
ritz: yes?

classmate: how are you?

classmate: si ritz ka ba

ritz: yup. name of classmate?
classmate: anong block natin?
ritz: ha? 34?

ritz: tama ba?
classmate: yup tama
classmate: testing ko lang baka hindi ikaw yan
ritz: nya... at least wala pa ako memory gap! hahaha

classmate: senior memory...

Well. I can't post the rest of our conversation na. I had a good laugh lang from this one. It was so unexpected that he will ask our block number when we are freshmen in college. Duh, ang daming pwedeng itanong. I was also surprised that I do remember the number!..

I'll understand if you did not laugh at it. hehehehe. Maybe, It has brought up something in the past that I instantly remembered me mentioning my early college days. But then, this should be a private laugh... oh, well...

Making Change, NOW

I believe that children are our future.
Teach them well and let them lead the way.
Show them all the beauty they possess inside.

I remember the first few lines in the song The Greatest Love of All sung by Whitney Houston in the 80's when I learned about a 12 year old boy, who is currently the youngest ambassador of UNICEF, Bilaal Rajan. I was really touched by his story and even made me contemplate what am I doing then when I was his age. Definitely, I was not doing even a quarter of what he has achieved now.
He has already raised over $5 million these past eight years for various causes . In his tender years, he has not only shown his passion to inspire children of no hope but has put into action what he stands for and he did made a difference.

More so, he has written a book “Making Change: Tips from an Underage Overachiever” that I believe would help largely in spreading his goodwill not only to children but to everybody, regardless of age. All parents out there can initiate this by reading this book and let your kids be inspired by story of Bilaal Rajan.

His goal to inspire one million kids in the next three years to maximize their true potential and get involved in creating a better world is a selfless one. He encourages us to make change NOW.

Well, if we think about it, if everyone would initiate change, even a simple or small one, that is, for good, this would snowball into a big change for everyone to enjoy. And besides, CHANGE is the only permanent thing in this world.

Birthday Rush

Now my sister is panicking. With less than a month till my nephew Neo's birthday, I can feel the rush! She now handed me the list of my things to do. As well as my other sister. Good thing, this week is just an ordinary work week for me. Maybe I can do some calls in between works and during break time. Honestly, I'm also excited to prepare for Neo's birthday. I would like a grand gift for him. What can that be?

These are the things to do listed under me:
1. Loot bags & goodies inside
2. MTV production
3. Special B-day shirt

I have called on to our suppliers to give me a hand in doing this in a very friendly budget! And of course, my creative ideas will be put to action (naks!). Have a great birthday, Neo!

Nice, Lazy Sunday

I called my parents that I won't be able to go home this weekend. When I wake up this morning, all I want to do is to sleep!. My body aches because of the 2 weeks pressure loaded events. Am so glad its over. I was able to get up by 1 pm because my stomach is already growling. Time really goes fast when you get to do nothing. After I ate my breakfast-snack-lunch, I turned on my dvd player and watched feel-good movies. It was indeed a nice, lazy Sunday for me. Well, I deserved this. I really would like to go out and go to the mall but the movies I played on made me stick to the tube as if I have not watched it then. As if! I watched While You Were Sleeping maybe 12 times already! Right now, A Walk in the Clouds is playing. It's one of my favorites!

I did checked on mails and posted this and a new blog opps. I don't want to end this day. I wish it's still Sunday tomorrow. Well, to off set the days I worked overtime & days with no work that I still worked, I'm planning to have a leave on Friday. I want a long weekend. This time, I'll do some personal errands and do some window shopping! My boss is still out of the country till next week, that's why.

Bad Credit Offers

Nowadays, getting a credit card is easy. Unlike five to seven years back, very few has one. It was a status symbol then and I got the impression that only from the class A & B can have one. I can still remember when I was declined not only once by credit card companies. Right now, I maintain two major credit cards, a visa & a master card. But I do have other 4 cards which is inactive. I never activated them because I did not apply for them in the first place. I recognize the importance of having more than one card. Its useful in times of emergency. On the other hand, it lures you to spend more and make you forget about it! That's where the danger lies.

Good thing there are services now available online that dishes out useful information and tips on how to choose the company & avoid bad credit credit cards. For me, the use of credit card must only cover emergencies & once in a while splurges as reward. It should not be a way of living. Besides, nothing beats paying in cash. No interest to think about!

L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole

This song is one of my timeless favorites. I was even suggesting this to be the background music for my nephews MTV for his 1st birthday on Nov 8. This song is actually on the Christmas Album of Starbucks, Santa Baby.

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please dont break it
Love was made for me and you

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please dont break it
Love was made for me and you
Love was made for me and you
Love was made for me and you

The Search Is Over

Information is now just a click away. It's really a wonder how technology has advanced ten years ago. Now, we can get to finish a school research project without going to the library and browsing to big and heavy encyclopedias. Practically everyone can access any information through the different search engines available be it for business, school research, entertainment and even people search. There are sites now available for free people search. I know one... LookupWho .com is a people search is a tool to find and reconnect with someone whose address and phone number are no longer known to you. All you need to do is to enter the person's name & state. This is free! Right now, they do service to United States and Canada. I'm sure soon, they'll be able to offer this to as many countries possible. And if that happens, I wonder how can I be part of the list?

Hey, think of a person that you want to search, for all you know, you may have an unfinished business that you may pursue! Sounds exciting!

At Wits End

Tomorrow is the last day of our preparation for another big event. Our company is one of the major sponsors of the biggest agricultural and livestock trade fair here in the Philippines. This is staged annually and for the 4th time, I'm the project leader. With this track record, I should be the master of this. But every year is different. Preparation is becoming more and more tedious since we have to beat our record in terms of staging, gimmick & of course, ROI of the previous year. Coming from an event last week, things are piling up again. Plus the fact that we just had our sales cut off which means new set of marketing guidelines has to be cascaded to the sales people. In short, I had this feeling that I'm the only one who is feeling the pressure. I cannot do them at all at the same time. I got the impression that my teammates has slowed down after last week's event and that I'm only the one running to beat all deadlines. Its true that we have created committees, but it seems that I do all things by myself. I'm at my wits end this afternoon that I had to raise my voice while I dished out all the things to do to my team. But after that, I somehow felt bad but still , I think that's the best way to do to wake them up. I wish that when I wake up tomorrow this 3 day event is over!

The year 2012

Ever since I met up with a friend of mine, who happens to be a monk, sometime last month, things about 2012 prophecy has been in my thoughts. I have never questioned my friends religious belief since, from the way he talks & explain this things to me, he has never mentioned any religion. He is into alchemy. Until now, I do not fully understand him, but there are certain theories that has been proven in me. My friend is talking about how the things happening to our environment, the calamities not only here in the Philippines but worldwide is contributing to the upheaval in the year 2012.

There is this book by Laura Dunham, a spiritual energy healer, Spiritual Wisdom For A Planet In Peril that talks about how to prepare for the much anticipated transformation of the earth by year 2012. I think there's nothing wrong with knowing what are the things that we must do in preparing. The things that are stated are all for the good. Like living an earth-friendly lifestyle, how to cope up with the existing economy... In this book, the author shares what are the signs of the changing times, understand the major prophecies & probabilities about 2012, teaches how to practice the art of discernment & how to participate in the Great Shift to the consciousnenss of unity and love.

We can never learn all of this unless we keep an open mind. Books like this can help us understand and shows the process as to how to put in to action. I bet my friend know about this, and maybe I'll just ask him instead.

Work out Monday

I worked out on a Monday! Yes, together with my 2 friends, we went to sweat out in our company gym. It was my first time to use the facilities. I used to just play badminton there & decided to join my friends & check out the much talked about gym. It was indeed a good feeling, minus my aching legs. hahahaha. I was really proud of myself to be able to find the courage to go to the gym in this hectic week. I do have an event coming this thursday so, I got lots of things to do. yaiks... But as my friends said, I need a break! A break? Gym? I did not let myself push too hard. I just had a good 30 minutes at the treadmill, 15 min at the bike... That alone has given me the body aches. Tomorrow we plan o play badminton. Along with this extra curricular activities is going on diet. Yes, diet...This is the hardest part! Gggrrrhhhhh.

Easy Pay Day

What is the best way to relax after three weeks of work and pressure? Well, for me, shopping is the answer. It may be just window shopping but buying something that fancies me really does the thing. I think a lot of girls will approve of this!

Christmas season brings along bazaars & mall sale! Wow, I really wish I have saved some bucks to give in to my holiday splurge. It seems that when the "ber" months started, I cannot stop thinking of all the things I need & want to buy. And there are also things that are on sale but not yet in need but I will still buy because it is categorized, under my definition as "good buy". What the heck, that's the Christmas spirit!!!

But given this, I see to it that all I spend is not beyond my means. It has always been a routine for me to make my credit cards in zero balance when the year ends. This way, I can start the next year with a clean slate. But mind you, good sale are also up till February!!!

I wanted to get payday loans ever since I came across it. This are short term loans that can be used to cover spending cravings. It is designed to be connected to your future pay checks. It somehow gives you instant budget in times when cash is not yet at hand. It may be similar in concept with credit cards but different in the credit limits since it was pegged against the amount of your paycheck. This is what I really wanted! A credit tool just within my means. Tendency to over spend & maintaining high interest from the use of credit cards will be minimized. I have also heard this from a friend and she said that this is becoming popular. But honestly, I don't know where to get it or how. If you happen to know how, please tell me...

Stuck With You by Huey Lewis and the News

Yes, I'm stuck with this song in the 80's.... but i really love Huey Lewis.

Weve had some fun, and yes weve had our ups and downs
Been down that rocky road, but here we are, still around
We thought about someone else, but neither one took the bait
We thought about breaking up, but now we know its much too late
We are bound by all the rest
Like the same phone number
All the same friends
And the same address

Yes, its true, (yes its true) I am happy to be stuck with you
Yes, its true, (yes its true) Im so happy to be stuck with you
cause I can see, (I can see) that youre happy to be stuck with me

Weve had our doubts, we never took them seriously
And weve had our ins and outs, but thats the way its supposed to be
We thought about giving up, but we could never stay away
Thought about breaking up, but now we know its much too late
And its no great mystery
If we change our minds
Eventually, its back to you and me

Yes, its true, (yes its true) I am happy to be stuck with you
Yes, its true, (yes its true) Im so happy to be stuck with you
cause I can see, (I can see) that youre happy to be stuck with me

We are bound by all the rest
Like the same phone number
All the same friends
And the same address

Yes, its true, (yes its true) I am happy to be stuck with you
Yes, its true, (yes its true) Im so happy to be stuck with you
cause I can see, (I can see) that youre happy to be stuck with me
(yes its true) Im so happy to be stuck with you
Im happy to be stuck with you
Happy to be stuck with you.

New Office Phone

Our office is now on the process of installing new phone units that has a Caller Identification mechanism on it. It has started last month & unfortunately our department is the last on the list. This will be very useful for me since I get to deal with lot of suppliers... our creative agency, media planner, promo item suppliers & our field men. I know this is not a new thing and a lot of companies, even residential phones has this thing. It also have this call-you-back function that will make me not miss call, especially important ones. I wish I have one already in time for all the preparation for the event. Oh, well, I'll have one soon.

Big Day Tomorrow

We will be staging an event tomorrow! Actually I just got home because of the last minute preparation. Ingress or stage set up will start at 12 midnight. But I begged off to be part of that cause I still have errands to do first thing in the morning tomorrow. This is an international event. First part will be the serious part & it will be capped by an entertainment night. We got popular celebrities to grace the night & the drama that the production agency has spun has really put pressure on us because what will be crucial is the aftermath of this event. Naturally, expenses that has been poured in staging this must turn into sales. And that's that hardest part. Well, I really hoped that all our overtime will be worth it. Wish me luck!

Look Who's Calling

Everybody practically has a cellphone. That is a fact. Many even have 2 phones. One for business or official & the other is for personal, intended for long calls. Have you ever looked into your phone book recently? I bet it bears contact number that has been saved there for ages. That goes for me. I was so amazed when I learned that there is actually a Nationwide Phone Lookup that can help us look for phone number in any countries you like. This is what 50 State Phone Look Up offers. There's this what you call reverse phone search directory where in you can trace prank calls, missed calls of unlisted numbers & even a search on a long lost friend. Its listing consist of the complete address, so you can even have the address of the person you wish to locate and not just the phone number. Very cool & really helpful. Let's try this out!!!

Birthday Invitation

Here's the invitation design for Neo's first birthday.... Venue is not yet final. If YOU are reading this and you have a suggestion, please leave a note....

Packing for Tagaytay Trip

I'll be off to Tagaytay this coming Monday. I wish it was a leisure trip. But the 3 day stay at Taal Vista Lodge is our year 2009 Strategic Brand Planning. This is the reason why I have not been logging into blogger.com lately. It's true that work really drags one's social life. heheheh.
I've decided to pack early and not do my usual "night before" packing ritual. This is because I hate to leave anything this time. Everytime I'm preparing for an out of town trip, always, never miss that I forgot something, be it a brush, lotion, contact lens solution...
And also, packing up early will save me some time for cramming. Yes, I'm planning to cram tomorrow. hahahaha. I have lots of things to do tomorrow besides finishing my presentation. I'll be preparing 3 presentations for Tuesday & Wednesday. Tomorrow, I plan to have a massage, manicure & pedicure while my car is being washed to save on waiting time, I'll drop our laundry, go to mass, a little blogging and finish my presentations.
I really hope I can pull this one this time. Oh, wait, I still got Monday night to finally finish them all!!

Preps for Neo's First Birthday

I was so surprised to find out that I have not posted a blog about my one and only nephew Neo! So, I'm taking this time to post something about him. He'll be turning one this November! My sister is planning for the bday celebration but until now, she has not yet reserved a venue yet. She has crossed out several options, not just on the venue but on the party theme too. I can remember the first one she' contempating is Baby Einstein. But ended up with the idea of not getting a character theme... and came up with ... NEO is ONE. To help out with the preps, I invited our company graphic artist at our apartment to design the invitation. This master design will be used in the cake. We will be designing unique shirts that Neo will wear during his party... shirt prints like: I am 1 and "Birthday ko Ngayon". Still, we are still brainstorming for the souvenir...

Still, I can't post a picture of Neo. I don't keep photo files in my lap top kasi. But I promise, I'll post pictures of his birthday party : )

Europe trip... only in my dreams...

My officemate just got from a Europe trip. It has always been my dream to travel to Europe. Yes, Ive been to US (Ohio, Iowa, LA), Asian countries, but have not yet set foot in Europe. When I saw her pictures collated for a month, I said to myself that I'll definitely plan my trip in the very near future.
What I'm looking forward is that I get to relax for a month (definitely, a trip to Europe must be at least 1 month). Hope I can save all the money I need for shopping. I've been thinking of pampering myself by getting a booking in one of the elusive Rome Hotels. Wow, It's like in the movies! Or maybe, 2 nights reservation in Hotel Florence. I have imagined what the hotels would look like because I see a lot of movies & read a lot of books. I really would like to experience waking up in another country but will not go to work but a full day of sight- seeing, picture taking, window shopping & of course, shopping. I'm fond of collecting souvenirs from all the places I've been to.
This is still a dream. A dream that is possible. A dream close to reality. All I have to do is have the money (yaiks), the time (double yaiks, getting a 1 month leave is difficult). Well, theres no harm in dreaming. And I know I can pull this one. Hehehe, positive thinking... I have to condition myself that in anything I do I will be thinking that part of it will be for my trip. Wow, I can't help not imagining my self getting a booking online in Bed and breakfast Paris.
Time is up!!! back to work!

Way Back Into Love

Hello blog world! Whew, been into oblivion because of tons of work. Ive been talking about work for one month now & Im missing blogging. But because I have no exciting news to share, I just dropped by to post the lyrics of one of the songs in Music & Lyrics (stars: Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore) which I watched for the second time during one of my break from work....

I've been living with a shadow overhead

I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed

I've been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on
I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into loveOh oh oh
I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs
I know that it's out thereThere's got to be something for my soul somewhere
I've been looking for someone to shed some light
Not somebody just to get me through the night
I could use some direction
And I'm open to your suggestions
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart againI guess
I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the endoh, oh, oh, oh, oh
There are moments when
I don't know if it's realOr if anybody feels the way I feelI need inspiration
Not just another negotiation
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to youI'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I'll be there for you in the endoh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Very nice, noh.... You get to appreciate a movie if watched twice... well, that goes for me...

Getting a Car Loan On-line

It's true that you can get all information you wanted on-line. I€ know not everybody can afford to buy a lap top or a desk top computer but you would agree with me that having one is a heaven. I was in a situation just recently where in surfing is the only answer at the moment.

It was when my uncle, who now will settle here in the Philippines after almost 37 years in Louiseville, Kentucky asked me on how & where can he get New Car Loans. He and my aunt will be moving back here in the Philippines to retire. They will definitely need to have a car because they will be settling in Batangas city ( my uncles hometown). And of course, they will be exploring other provinces here & visit also my aunts hometown in Pampanga. With the escalating oil prices nowadays, getting a car loan is a good idea.

I have no idea, whatsoever in getting a car loan. As of now, its not in my priority list to get a personal car since my current employer provides service vehicle, and the gas allowance too. So, we did surf on New Car Loans & I'm not surprised that everything you need to know about car loans are intricately described. I downloaded information for my uncle to read & review. I learned that you can even get a loan even for second hand car.

Well, I hope they can now decide what car to buy.

I've been ranked by Google!

It was only through Lissa that I learned that my blog was awarded PR 1 by Google. She called me up yesterday about this & for a while, I don't know exactly what is she talking about??? In the first place, I never imagined that my blog can get ranked higher than zero! I never bothered checking from the several blog rank widgets available. But then, I was so thrilled & really surprised with the news. It felt just like receiving the news, also from a friend that I passed the board exam! (exag!) Lissa also explained the relevance of that ranking & of course it may be significant, being a ranking thingy!

I have not done anything extraordinary with my blog that i know that contributed to the rank. They say it is somehow difficult to earn it that's why I'm so... duh? I will have to attribute it to the links I installed in my blog...It must be the HARRY POTTER ADDICTION where I linked several interesting sites about HP. I would like to thank all of my new found friends in the blogging world who visits my site from time to time. I think it contributed a lot. Thanks to Google!!

Car Insurance

I'm driving a company sponsored car for ten years now. The current one I'm using is with me for almost 2 years already. This being the case, vehicle maintainance & repair coverage is not a problem for me. We have a comprehensive car insurance provided by our company. The real challenge for me lies on how religious i keep track of all the required services for my car especially when i encountered accidents. Yes, i have been into a couple of car accidents & thank God just minor ones. Like now, my car has a dent at the passenger-driver side that i failed to investigate when & how did it happen. I attribute it when I have my car parked by a hotel vallet service during one of our sales meeting. Too bad I noticed it late. Whew, now, I have to "fabricate" an accident report for me to file it to our accredited car insurance.
It is not till my sister & brother-in-law encountered a car problem that I realize that having a personal car insurance is necessary. They asked me things about it & all i have to answer are basics of how to file it to the insurance company. Then, what?

This is why I have come across sites that explains everything about car insurance. The site is called CarInsuranceRates.com Good thing there are available sites dishing out this kind informations . It all explains how to get a car insurance, discount & how to get cheap insurance & even how can we save on the next car insurance policy. Their site is very informative & interactive that you can post a question directly. They have links for related articles too. They also offer customized insurance that best fit anyones lifestyle. Really interesting!

Oh, well, at least we have a guide in getting the next car insurance. What my sister & BIL got is not a comprehensive car insurance since their car is more than 7 years already.

Or maybe they need a new car! Hahahaha!

No work Monday, again!

"I don't like Mondays"... that's what I said from a previous blog entry... I justify my statement that if the Monday in the offing was coming from a great weekend that you don't want to end. And thinking of the ton of work you left before the week end.. whew...

But now, for two Mondays since last week, I Love Mondays! hehehe. Imagine 2 consecutive non-working Mondays! Its a heaven! Tomorrow, we'll be playing, again, badminton! This time with other friends (last time was with Beng only) for at least 2 hours.

This will be a great way to start the week. I just got back from Bicol, so, my paper works is piled up already. have to do lots of catching up for pending memos for approval. Then my weekend is not so good. I'll be going back to Bicol for the shooting of my brands avp for the new campaign. And worst, I'm leaving Saturday. I'm spending my weekend in Bicol, working & be back by Monday. huhhhuhuhuh... Well I thinks that's the price I have to pay for the 2 non working Mondays!

Why do we need friends?

Thanks Carol sharing this one!

We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.

We need friends to comfort us hen we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.

We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,and treat us nice.

We need friends to remember us, one we have passed
sharing memories that will always last.

Spread the poem of friendship.

Im passing this to Lissa, Jacque, Michy & Julianna...

Blast from the past

Just came in from Spandau Ballet concert. Tony Hadley rocked the house down with the bands popular songs! Those are the songs I've grown up with... Gold, True, Lifeline, Round & round...He sang just like in the past. I've browsed through info about Spandau Ballet & tracked down their beginnings & the time thay become oh so popular... they started hitting the charts at '81... I was in grade school then when pop & rock music with all those synthesizers banging in the radio.... that was the 80s era trully... I really love the 80s ... retro & new wave... other popular bands I recall are Duran Duran, Culture Club, U2, Fralippolippi, OMD, A-ha, Petshop Boys, Depeche Mode, Wham... and a lot more... maybe I'll check on to my CD collection...

Oh well, just can't let this night end without posting an entry here about how was i able to travel down memory lane with Spandau Ballet's song. Trully a classic!

Off to a concert tonight

Do you remember Spandau Ballet? Or do you even know who Spandau Ballet is? They are really popular band way back 80s. They'll playing tonight at Araneta Coliseum & I got a free ticket. Ill be going with my officemates, who, obviously know & love the hits of this band with Tony Hadley as the lead vocal. Here's a list of some of their songs I know dearly: Gold, True, Round & Round, Lifeline, Through the Barricade & Only When you leave...
